Zendaya dressed as Halle Berry for Halloween, recreating a butter yellow, brown, and white printed string bikini top with matching low-rise, wide-leg trousers from Lanvin's fall 2000 collection. Stylist Law Roach shared photos of the look on Saturday. Berry first wore the two-piece to the New York premiere of X-Men in July 2000, accessorizing with a belly chain and tinted sunglasses.
Roach thanked Lanvin's artistic director Peter Copping and Alix Long in his post. Copping took the creative reins at the French fashion house in 2024. Cristina Ortiz was Lanvin's womenswear designer when the fall 2000 collection debuted.
The fashion homage follows Zendaya's pixie cut debut, which Roach confirmed was inspired by Berry's iconic short hairstyle when unveiled at the 2026 Emmy Awards in September. Berry embraced the tribute, sharing Roach's interview on her Instagram Story and writing that Zendaya "murdered the night."
This continues Zendaya's pattern of using fashion to honor other stars. In 2013, she recreated the late Aaliyah's iconic Tommy Hilfiger campaign look for Keep a Child Alive's Dream Halloween. More recently, she wore a vintage Bob Mackie design to honor Cher at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
