Airbnb held its inaugural gala at Milk Studios in Los Angeles, bringing together celebrities including Zoe Saldaña, Serena Williams, and Matthew McConaughey to celebrate Airbnb.org, the nonprofit arm founded in 2020.
Airbnb.org provides free temporary housing to people in crisis, including those affected by natural disasters, families traveling for medical care, and individuals fleeing domestic violence. The company announced it will donate a portion of revenue from every stay to the nonprofit, with a goal of raising $500 million over the next five years to provide one million nights of free housing each year.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the event, which featured a performance from Charli XCX. The singer wore a gold Roberto Cavalli Fall 2005 gown.
Other attendees included Charlize Theron in Givenchy, Cynthia Erivo in Cong Tri, Chloë Grace Moretz in Louis Vuitton, Greta Lee in Lii, Jessica Alba in Donna Karan Fall 2003, Demi Lovato in Schiaparelli, Madelyn Cline in floral-embroidered Wiederhoeft, Adéla in Saint Laurent, and Quenlin Blackwell in a cutout Balmain dress.
