MAS has transformed the first-floor gallery at Karimoku Commons Tokyo into an imagined Japanese inn for a special exhibition titled "Oyado MAS." The installation explores MAS' concept of "New Japanese Comfort" through an immersive hospitality-focused environment that integrates furniture, craft, and design.

The exhibition brings together MAS' design philosophy with collaborations from specialized makers and artisans. Partners on the project include NEW LIGHT POTTERY, Nao Tesuki Washi, SEKISAKA, sheep and sinso. Each contributor brings distinct craft expertise to the installation.

MAS, founded in 2018 under Design Director Wataru Kumano, has built its practice around furniture design rooted in Japanese comfort principles. The "Oyado MAS" exhibition extends this philosophy beyond standalone pieces into a fully realized spatial experience. The transformation of Karimoku Commons Tokyo's gallery space creates an environment where visitors encounter the brand's interpretation of contemporary Japanese hospitality.

The project demonstrates how MAS interprets traditional Japanese inn culture through modern design and material innovation. By converting a commercial gallery into an imagined inn, the exhibition positions furniture and craft objects as elements of lived experience rather than isolated products. The collaboration with multiple artisanal partners reflects MAS' approach to blending industrial design with traditional Japanese making techniques.

Karimoku Commons Tokyo serves as the venue for this immersive presentation of MAS' design direction. The choice of location connects the exhibition to Karimoku's own heritage in Japanese furniture manufacturing and retail presentation.
