ASICS installed a life-sized diorama in Paris on World Mental Health Day to promote its founding philosophy of a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. The installation, housed at Grande Halle de La Villette forecourt for two days, featured a realistic human model hunched over in front of screens. The brand presented the figure as part of a fictional new species called Homo Scrollus Canapus, drawing on a global study showing 86% of people surveyed spend their waking hours inactive.
The diorama adopted a museum format with explanatory labels and documentary-style voiceovers. Passersby shared personal stories about modern habits that have removed movement from daily life, including doomscrolling, binge-watching, and prolonged screen time.
The installation also offered a solution. A board noted that dedicating a few minutes to movement can boost mind and body. ASICS championed this message through its 15 Minutes to Thrive challenge, designed to encourage everyday activity.
